Save Fuel!

  • Perform routine maintenance.
  • Replace clogged air filters.
  • Check your tire pressure once every two weeks.
  • Maintain a steady speed in the highest possible gear. The higher the gear, the lower the fuel consumption.
  • Reduce speed. Drive & accelerate smoothly, brake softly.
  • Fuel when it’s cool (morning or night). Petroleum products expand in warm weather.
  • Travel Light. Remove excess weight from the vehicle.
  • Use your A/C wisely.

Safety @ the Station

  • Follow safety precautions at the pump.
  • Turn off your vehicle’s engine when fueling.
  • Keep fuels out of children’s sight and reach. Never allow a child to pump gas.
  • Don’t smoke, light matches or use lighters while fueling.
  • Never leave the nozzle unattended.
  • To avoid spills, do not top off or overfill your vehicle.

  • To avoid spills, do not top off or overfill your vehicle.
  • Don’t get in and out of your vehicle while refueling. A static electric charge can develop on your body as you slide across the seat, and when you reach for the pump, a spark can ignite gasoline vapor.
  • If you must get into the vehicle during refueling, discharge any static electricity by touching metal on the outside of the vehicle.
  • Never tank your car on the wrong side-especially with the nozzle upside down.
  • If a fire starts while you’re fueling, leave the area and call for help.

Use your Jerry can Safely!

  • Use only approved portable containers for transporting or storing fuel.
  • Always place the container on the ground. This way you will avoid dangerous spills and static charges, resulting in fire.
  • When filling a portable container, keep the nozzle in direct contact with the container. Fill it up to about 95 percent to leave room for expansion.
